BoxyCharm continues to be my favorite beauty sub box, I’m always happy with it. Recently, there have been a few changes: it now costs $25/month instead of $21 but the value is now up to $200 as opposed to $100. You still get 5 beauty items plus a gift each month but now you can choose 1 item in your box every month. Shop beauty deals up to 80% off. The selection still includes nail care, skincare, makeup, haircare, fragrance and more. The box ships to the US and Canada. Each box has a theme with a card detailing the items inside. You can cancel at any time, but I doubt you’ll want to!
I also received a sample for the new Boxy Complexion Customization feature. A swatch card for BECCA’s foundation. To customize, choose from the shades visit this link, and report which shade was the best match for you! There are also some questions regarding which type of foundation and concealer-related products you would like to see in your box and how frequently.
The theme for November is Stellar.
Exclusive BoxyCharm Mini Version of the Dominique Cosmetics Celestial Thunder Eye Shadow Palette $35.00
Wow! These colors are beautiful however, as a neutral girl, a few of them I won’t use. That said I do like neutral palettes with a kick. It seems though, I get a lot of this type of palette with Boxycharm. It was just in September that I received the Violet Voss Essentials Palette and that had some bright shades but they were more wearable.
The shimmers are incredible. Fireball caught my eye immediately, it’s an exceptional metallic orange-red with beautiful smoothness. Black Matter would make for a killer smoky eye and Eternal Light is perfect for the holidays. The mattes are also well pigmented, I can see myself wearing Storm Dust and Zero Gravity in the crease and Mystic Ice and an eyeliner. I probably will not use Lucid Dream or Lunar Eclipse but you never know!
This was the item I chose for the customization and I am really excited about it. My skin can use added hydration especially in winter and this milky white serum has great ingredients. It’s got tons of antioxidants plus Vitamins C and E.
I love the soft botanical scent and how quickly it absorbs. I can’t wait to see the results after I used it for a month or so. I’m hoping for the glow it promises.
With its featherweight texture, this formula reinvigorates, replenishes and soothes skin to glowing, supple dewiness, enhancing elasticity and luminosity, delivering a burst of hydration and brightening dullness and calming the appearance of redness.
The serum is free from sulfates, phthalates, parabens, petrochemicals, mineral oil, silicone and talc; also free of synthetic fragrances, ethoxylate, plastic, GMOs, gluten and filler. It’s cruelty-free, vegan and made in the USA.
Dose of Colors Liquid Lipstick $18.00.
The color I received is Nude Mood, a pinky nude beige. The formula is full coverage and the pigment is spectacular. It has a matte finish that doesn’t look or feel dry. Not sure this is a great color for me–too much brown but I’d love to try other shades.
BoxyCharm 2 Piece Brush Set $35.00
These Boxycharm branded brushes are pretty great. They look like the fancy and expensive Japanese brushes I’ve seen at IMATS. The bristles are nice and dense yet very soft. I like the larger one for applying foundation and the smaller one for blush and highlighter. I’m glad to have these in my collection!
Tula Skincare Star Powered Nourishing & Brightening Cosmic Hydrogel Mask Set of 2 $22.00 This set of two masks gives a boost of hydration and calms distressed skin. There are four key ingredients:
- Grapefruit: brightens the appearance of skin
- Chamomile: calms, soothes, and helps relieve the look of redness
- Gotu Kola: an herb that helps improve the look of skin elasticity
- Probiotics: help calm the look of inflammation & aid moisture retention
This month Boxycharm is another winner with me loving 3 out of the 5 products and just meh for the other two. I still like Boxycharm the best of any subscription box and I hope to receive some great complexion products in the near future!
